What We Believe

We believe in One God who is manifest in three persons:  The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ was fully man. He was born of a virgin.  This was the only exceptional thing about his birth. He was human just like all of us today and he lived on this Earth as a normal man...but he was also fully God as well. We believe that he was condemned to death and executed by the Roman government at the urging of his own people: the Jews. However, we do not believe any specific group is to be hated or blamed for his death as it was the result of the sin of all men.  We believe that his death is the basis of salvation as his perfect sacrifice atones for the sins of all who will accept him as Lord and Savior. We believe that on the third day he rose again to life, was seen by at least 500 people and then ascended into Heaven where he has remained with the Father. We believe that one day, a day which we do not know and which we are unable to deduce, he will return to Earth for those, both living and dead, who have accepted Him.

We believe in the Holy Spirit who is given by God to everyone who accepts Jesus as Savior. We believe that the Holy Spirit is our comforter and helper here on Earth, convicting of us of sin and allowing us to live a life that strives to emulate Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit is eternal and has been ever present since the beginning.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, eternal word of God and it is the only standard by which our beliefs and practices should be evaluated.

We believe that every man and woman, regardless of race or background, was created in the image of God. We believe that every human, although created in his image, have rebelled against God and are separated from Him through sin. We believe that although we have rebelled that God still loves each and every one of us passionately and it was this love that brought his Son, Jesus, to Earth to die on the cross. It is only through Him that we are reunited with the Father.

We believe that the church is the Body of Christ...with Christ being the head. We believe that the church is made up of those who have confessed Him, repented of their sins, and have been baptized into his death, burial and resurrection. We believe that as a church we belong to Christ but each member of his church belongs to each other as well.

We believe that those who accept Christ as Savior will one day live eternally with him.

We strive to not make anything a test of fellowship on which the Bible is silent. We do not claim to be the only Christians but rather strive to be Christians only.
